Music by Abhiman Roy has some foot-tapping numbers. Shirin, with her lively performance, is sure to entertain youngistan. While the first half is full of romantic sequences laced with comedy, the storyline turns serious in the second half. The rest is full drama and action which go on expected lines with some catchy dialogues by M S Ramesh reflecting the state of affairs in India in handling terrorists' cases. Siddhanth, to prove that he is innocent, begins his hunt for terrorists and takes on Saleem, (Atul Kulakarni), who plans to blast KRS dam. Ajay's mother Gowri (Sumalatha) helps her son escape from the jail through some youths by paying them money. When police start investigating how AK 56 landed in the village, they arrest Ajay ( Siddhant), a basketball player, and send him to Hindalga jail. A boy uses AK 56 rifle as a toy and scares away his friends in a village. AK 56 is no exception with some brilliant action sequences by Palaniraj and excellent cinematography by Manohar giving life to the story that revolves around an innocent person sent to jail mistaking him to be a terrorist and how he proves his innocence. Movie Review : Director N Omprakash Rao has lived up to his reputation of churning out good scripts and keeping the rich narration alive till the end.
